Why is my pool green even though I add chlorine?
Because the chlorine is being consumed faster than it is added — by algae, by sun without stabilizer, or by a pH so high the chlorine is not working. Green water is treated by getting the chemistry right and shocking it, brushing, and running the filter continuously until it clears. Adding more chlorine to unbalanced water is how a pool stays green.
